Robert Land Footwear started out in 1992. We started like alot of other businesses specilizing in supplying goods and services to re-enactors and living historians "Lost my job, became a sutler".
This little family business manufactures shoes and boots for living historians, re-enactors, historic sites, and the film industry.

We have grown from a one man, one sewing machine, one style, one colour (black or black) operation to a two man operation with many styles and colours. We have purposly remained small.
Our business was focused on making anything the customer asked for, in almost any size (custom or "bespoke" work) at the retail level. World events over the last few years resulting in people tightening their spending, along with the dropping buying power of the US dollar,(this was always my profit margin, as we are located in Canada), inxpensive foriegn imports, and the attitude of "I WANT IT NOW" Has caused me to rethink and reshape this business right to it's foundations. I can no longer afford to make shoes one pair at a time anymore, I am loosing money on every pair of shoes produced this way.

Produce shoes in large batches, ( mass production) Accurate sizing information to assist the customer with purchasing shoes by mail. Give people a good selection of colours and styles in stock 
We have modified our shipping practices  over the last year. 
NEW SHIPPING INFO AS OF OCT 2006  Please read. We tried using a "pick pack and ship" service in New York to speed things up .  But it just didn't work.  So I have to look after shipping myself.  I normally visit NY to look after this on the 1st and 15th of the month.  This means that if you order on the 14th you get shipped immed.  If you order on the 16th you may have to wait a while.
